The Gaslight Inside DCFS

For years DCFS tried to convince me that I was the problem. They ignored my compliance and twisted my words. They delayed reunification and even suggested that my very identity as a gay father was something my children needed therapy for. That is not child protection. That is gaslighting inside the DCFS system.

Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse. It is when someone manipulates you into questioning your own memory, truth, or sanity until you begin to doubt what you know is real. Inside DCFS, gaslighting is used as a weapon of control. They told me I was not cooperating even though I have emails that show I asked for visits, interpreters, and services. They told me my concerns were not real even while I faced retaliation, harassment, and deliberate roadblocks. They wanted me to feel crazy, hopeless, and powerless.

The truth is that I was never crazy. I was not lying. I was never alone. I documented everything and now those documents are part of the federal record. The exhibits are available publicly on PACER for anyone who wants to see the truth for themselves.

DCFS gaslights parents to cover misconduct, to protect power, and to silence families. The mask is slipping. The truth is breaking through. Every page of evidence shows their abuse of authority is not a mistake. It is a pattern.

I will not be silent. I will not let their gaslight define me, my children, or my family. The record is clear. The exhibits are public. The fight for justice is moving forward.
