National Call to Action: Stop the Federal Funding of Family Separation

Updated: Sep 8

This fight is not just about my family — it’s about every parent in America.

Across the United States, Child Protective Services (CPS) and Departments of Children and Family Services (DCFS) receive federal money through the Adoption and Safe Families Act (ASFA). These funds were meant to protect children and support families. But in practice, they have created a dangerous financial incentive:

  • More child removals mean more federal money.

  • Reunification efforts are neglected or sabotaged.

  • Loving parents lose their children, not because they are unfit, but because the system profits from separation.

This is not speculation — it’s happening in county after county, state after state. My case, documented in Dkt. 199–246, is just one example in a sea of thousands. Behind every number is a child who has lost their home, their security, and their future — and a parent whose constitutional rights have been trampled.

We must demand that Congress act now:

  • End the perverse incentives in ASFA that reward child removal over reunification.

  • Require full transparency and audits of every dollar spent.

  • Hold counties accountable for wrongful removals and withheld evidence.

Every parent, regardless of race, income, sexual orientation, or background, is at risk under the current system. This is not a partisan issue — this is a human rights emergency.

Take Action:

  • Share this message with your community.

  • Contact your representatives in Congress and demand ASFA reform.

  • Support organizations and lawsuits fighting for CPS accountability.

The fight for my children is the fight for all children. Together, we can end the federally funded destruction of American families.
