Honoring Nancy Schaefer’s Legacy in Federal Court

Updated: Sep 7, 2025

Last night I filed one of the most important documents of my life in federal court. Alongside my own Declaration and supporting evidence I attached the warning letter written by Senator Nancy Schaefer titled The Corrupt Business of Child Protective Services from 2007 and 2008.

Nancy devoted her final years to exposing what many of us have lived through. She showed how the system destroys families, fabricates evidence, and profits off the pain of parents and children. She called for congressional hearings. She begged for reform. She revealed that federal adoption bonuses created a perverse incentive to remove children not for safety but for money.

Congress ignored her. Families suffered. I became one of those families.

By submitting Nancy’s report as Exhibit A in my case I made sure her voice is officially part of the record. It is no longer just a forgotten document. It is tied to a living case inside a federal courtroom where the truth cannot be silenced.

This is not only about me. It is about every family across this country who has been torn apart by lies, coercion, and greed. It is about carrying Nancy’s torch and refusing to let her warning die in vain.

I am now waiting until the court makes this filing public. Once it is available on the docket I will share the document and docket number with everyone. That way the world will see what Nancy already knew and how her words mirror what I and countless others endured.

Senator Nancy Schaefer paid the ultimate price for speaking truth to power. Tonight I want her legacy to live on in the fight for justice. I want her family to know her voice did not vanish. I want every parent reading this to know you are not alone.

Nancy said it best. There is no accountability in Child Protective Services. I have now placed those words directly before the federal court. This is how we honor her. Not by silence but by action.
